Technical Principle
◆ Oil analysis spectrometers are composed of three main parts: 1) excitation system, 2) optical system, and 3) readout system.
◆ The excitation system comprises a rod electrode, a disc electrode and a light source. One end of the rod electrode is processed into a cone. The disc electrode must have a certain roughness, and all of them are made of high purity graphite. During the excitation process, the disc electrode rotates continuously to bring the oil to the opposite electrode. A high voltage is generated between the electrodes to form an arc discharge, which causes the oil on the disc electrode to burn and each element in the sample to emit a characteristic spectrum.
◆ The intensity of characteristic spectrum line of each element is proportional to its concentration, and the content of each element can be obtained by comparing with the standard curve.

◆ Wear, pollution and corrosion are several failure forms of equipment, among which wear failure accounts for 60% to 80%. Oil analysis technology can be used to monitor equipment performance changes and analyze oil abrasive particles, and the information of mechanical lubrication and wear state can be obtained, so that the running state of mechanical equipment can be evaluated and predicted, and then the cause and form of failure can be determined.
◆ Oil analysis technology is or has become one of the indispensable methods of mechanical equipment condition monitoring and fault diagnosis, occupies an important position.
◆ Oil spectral analysis is an effective and mature oil monitoring technology, especially the modern special spectrometer has the characteristics of high degree of automation, fast analysis speed, accurate quantitative and multi-element analysis, so it is widely used.
